What do I need for my first lesson?
You will need an art journal, which is available for purchase at the studio. All other materials and mediums are included.
What is the structure of the class?
We don’t follow a set art curriculum. Instead, we focus on nurturing each child’s individual skills by introducing them to various techniques across different mediums. Additionally, we incorporate 3D art projects once every term.
Am I allowed to sit with my child in class?
We kindly ask parents to allow their child to develop their own skillsets during this time, without intervening to “help or correct.” Please respect their creative process. If it’s your child’s first time, you are welcome to sit with them for up to 10 minutes, then quietly slip away.
Do I need prior art experience to join the class?
No, our class is open to all skill levels! Whether you’re a beginner or have experience, you’ll be able to learn and grow in the class.
Can I bring my own art supplies?
Yes, feel free to bring any art supplies you’re comfortable using, but we’ll also provide basic materials for everyone.
In which language do you teach your class?
We teach art class in both English and Afrikaans.
Do I need to bring any reference images or ideas to class?
You don’t have to, but if you have something in mind, feel free to bring it! Sometimes, using references can help spark inspiration.
Is there a specific dress code for the class?
We recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting paint on. An old t-shirt or apron is a great idea!
